Joel Pineiro, complete game shutout. Two hits. One strikeout.This is a guy who sported a 5.15 ERA in 2008, and leads the NL in losses so far in 2009. He's just not a good pitcher at this point in his career.
However, against the Metsies, he's money right now.
He's 2-0 this year in two starts against them, throwing the shutout last night and an eight inning "gem" on April 22nd.
Starting with this shutout, Pineiro is 5-1 with a 2.51 ERA over his last nine starts. The Mets turned his season around.
